[Agritechnica, Hanover Germany - November 12th, 2025] Connected Farms announced it will use Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network, Project Kuiper, to provide fast, reliable connectivity to farmers across the globe without access to reliable internet. Together they will help redefine agricultural operations by providing the secure, high-performance connectivity required to power Connected Intelligence across modern farms—linking precision technology, automation, robotics, sensors, and data systems in real time.

Amazon’s Project Kuiper will deliver high-speed, low-latency internet to tens of millions of customers around the world. The system is built around a constellation of thousands of satellites in low Earth orbit—connected by high-speed optical links that create a mesh network in space—and linked to a global network of antennas, fiber, and internet connection points on the ground.

The collaboration with Connected Farms is part of Amazon’s broader mission to connect customers and communities beyond the reach of existing networks, empowering farmers with the digital tools to make smarter decisions, operate more efficiently, and implement more sustainable practices.

“This is more than connectivity—it’s the backbone of a new agricultural revolution,” said Tom Andrews, CEO and Co-Founder of Connected Farms. “Amazon is building one of the most advanced satellite communications networks in the world. By combining that enterprise-grade service with our CommsXtend system, we’re empowering farmers to unlock the full potential of their operations—driving profit, safety, and sustainability like never before.

Without consistent connectivity, farmers operate in digital darkness, spending hours seeking signal to access weather forecasts, market prices, or technical support. It also limits their ability to adopt modern equipment—advanced agricultural machinery and robotics requires connectivity for optimal operation, leaving unconnected farmers unable to fully utilize their investments. Valuable information from sensors, machinery, and field observations remains trapped on devices rather than informing critical operational decisions.

With high-speed, reliable connectivity designed for mobile and enterprise operations, Connected Farms will enable remote equipment monitoring and maintenance, between OEM’s and farmers, no need to wait weeks for repairs. It will also enable real-time data collection from field sensors, integration of AI and automation technologies and secure data processing at the device, farm edge and cloud levels.

The new Kuiper-powered CommsXtend offering will leverage a purpose-built variant of Amazon’s compact, high-performance customer terminal, one of several advanced phased array antennas in Amazon’s hardware lineup. The IP67-rated antenna is designed to support the tough conditions in which agricultural machinery operates, including rain, wind, dust, high-variant temperature ranges, and constant vibrations

“We believe everyone in the world should have access to high-speed internet, whether you’re a large technology company in a metro area or a farmer or agricultural enterprise in the most remote areas of the world,” said Chris Weber, vice president of Project Kuiper Business and Consumer. “Connected Farms has made a commitment to help farmers conquer digital darkness, and we’re proud to help them deliver on that vision by adding Project Kuiper to their service offering.”

Connected Farms will start piloting service in 2026 in locations across the U.K. and North America, with broader service availability as Project Kuiper builds out its constellation.
